A major disappointment from Sherwood(DEFECTIVE?)
I got a good deal on this on E-Bay;that I cannot complain. I do not know for sure if the unit is defective in its Dolby Digital decoding as well as its' overall sound quality. If this had the decoding and sound quality of the Sherwood 6090R we would be talking a blue streak here. The following modes were worthless in their decoding and sound quality;DTS NEO,DOLBY VIRTUAL,THEATER,MATRIX,HALL,DOLBY PRO-LOGIC,and DOLBY PRO-LOGIC 2 MOVIE. I have not tested a DTS track nor made test on any ES or EX decoding. The sound quality on the highs and to an extent on the midrange sound like they are coming out of a bullhorn. The sound is "blary" and overall exaggerated. There is an expression used for years called "straight wire without gain". This means that a unit does not seem to add or subtract ... I have owned many items of audio equipment and always felt to a great degree that even if the item left a signature, it was a most pleasant one. I cannot say the same for the RD7500 or at least this unit. In order for me to possibly use the device, I had to turn down the left and right volume adjustments to a -8 with appropriate adjustments made to the center and surround channels. The sound in Dolby Digital and DPL-2 MUSIC became half way decent. The Dolby Digital decoding sounded flat and with a certain lack of detail and spacial effects which seemed lackluster. After adjusting the DPL-2 MUSIC for dimension and width, I did like those results. Folks, DPL-2 is really a form of 5 channel Dynaquad. Since I know how to make that type of system and know what it can do to music(like fantastic),this mode worked very well for music, 2 channel Dolby surround material, and any other 2 channel surround material(like ones stereo videos made in the field)that has spacial ques imbedded in the sound track. This is the only time this RD-7500 unit played decently well. The unit does have assignable digital inputs as well as an adjustable 80-100-120hz crossover. The remote is OK. The bass quality of the unit is quite good whether one uses this on main left-right speakers with the bass management set to large on those speakers or whether you set the bass management to small and use the subwoofer output. I like the bass response that the unit delivers through the subwoofer output to a subwoofer. My recommendation is that if you buy this unit or any other Sherwood 100 watt X 5 or 6 channel unit that you have the option of returning it. If I have the opportunity to review any other Sherwood and my findings on those are different or the SAME, I will adjust this review with an add. comment. Not recommended unless with option to return.

Good Sound Excellent options for Theater Surround
Clean, refined look and multiple otpions for connecting almost anything. 600 Watts of power and 6.1 Channels w/Neo 6 puts this above the standard.
