The strategically unpredictable, massively destructive combat of Team 17's Worms returns to Nintendo DS in this follow-up to 2006's Open Warfare. As in that predecessor, and earlier home computer versions of the internationally popular game, teams of heavily armed, anthropomorphic worms take time-limited turns, maneuvering around 2D battlefields and taking their best shots at the enemy, trying to take shifting winds, destructible terrain, and randomly placed explosives in to account as well.<br><br>Annelid armies are more customizable in this second handheld edition of the game, as players can choose their battle flags, tombstones, and victory dances, and pick from a selection of squeaky, cloyingly endearing voice banks. The series' most memorable super weapons are available, including the "Holy Hand Grenade" and the "Super Sheep," along with newer uber-armaments like the "Bunker Buster" and the "Buffalo of Lies." An included level editor lets players design their own battlefields.<br><br>In addition to the standard battles, Open Warfare 2 features "Puzzle," "Fort," and "Rope Race" modes. A "Firing Range" mode allows players to get a feel for the game's powerful and unpredictable weapons. Internet-connected gamers can download new content and challenge other players around the world. A pass-around-the-handheld "Hot Seat" mode is also available, to challenge players who aren't quite so far away.

    Brings back fond memories

    I love this game. I know Worms: Open Warfare 1 sucked badly, but Worms: Open Warfare 2 is a HUGE improvement. There's so many options to use and customizations to create. You get to choose your Worm's victory dances, names, and even skin color! There's also several new single play features, such as blowing into the DS to keep your Worm, who's parachuting, afloat and completing challenging puzzles.. The best part about this game, though, is the Wi-Fi!! Now, players can randomly face off against people around the world and get ranked! I'm currently #667 in ranked matches. If one finds that the random player they fought against was a good opponent, you can add them to your rivals and play them again, whenever they're on again. The only negative side to Wi-Fi is that there's no chat function ...

    An Amazing Game.

    This game is so much fun and this is why I think so... 1) There is Nintendo Wifi connection to play with people around the world. 2) You can play up to four people on one DS. 3) Story mode is a lot of fun. 4) Its fun to customize your worm team. 5) Amazing/funny weapons you can choose from. I am very glad I purchased this item.

    kids love the game

    the price was right and the games looked good for kids, the worms look funn on the Nintendo DS because of the size of the screen. it is rated for everyone which is why i got it......

    Great strategy game!

    Many hours of fun with this game! You gotta love worms at war as the base of a game... Easy to learn, hard to master. Recommended for anyone who likes puzzle or strategy games.

    best DS game ever

    I am a hugh worms fan. so I thought that I would buy this game to keep me busy on the road while riding. now I cant put it douwn. The game seems never ending, which is good for the DS.
