Both authors tackle the sometimes daunting task of trying to explain the hows and whys of what is fast becoming the 3rd industrial revolution. This is a must have book as it takes a complex subject and breaks it down into straightforward details and helpful hints to make your first 3D printer purchase a breeze.     Having purchased a 3D printer I was eager to get started. The authors do a good job of discussing the various types of additive print processes, that was interesting, but not very useful. I thought this book would be a good introduction and provide insight into answering these questions: 1. How do I prepare a drawing of the object I wished to 3D print? In fairness, there was a brief mention of some AutoCAD and AutoCAD-like programs, but no indication of how one might use them. (Yes, I know AutoCAD is a very complex program.) It would have been very useful to discuss how the drawing programs are used -- a least generally. 2. How do I translate that drawing into instructions to print the layer-by-layer print job? Once one has a drawing (somehow) of the object to be printed, what do ...
