Can-Am Racing 1970-1974
This is an excellent chronicle of the human side as well as discussion of the mechanical side of one of the greatest yet shortest eras of racing, the essentially unlimited Can-Am series. It is fascinating to read along as the boundaries were pushed higher and higher over the years, back then they really were pioneering and it was far more dangerous than today. If you are a true gearhead like me, you really MUST have the companion book "Can-Am Racing Cars 1966-1974", which goes into great mechanical detail about these brutes, which have never been topped among circuit cars for raw power, even 35+ years later! I have several other books from the publisher Brooklands Books, they have easily the best catalog of fast car/racing books I have ever seen by far!
