The plates are BEAUTIFUL and exactly what I was looking for. YAY! However, thankfully the seller had included an extra plate - thank goodness because they were really POORLY PACKED with just one thin piece of paper between each plate and one was completely SHATTERED. Doesn't make sense to pack hard-to-find china with less paper than they use to pack a cheap mug at marshall's. Seriously, one single layer of paper, I kid you not. See pics. Definitely needs bubble wrap between Each plate.

The serving platter is the center of attention at any fine dinner party. When you present your main dish on exquisite Wedgwood fine bone china, your dinner guests will know that they are in a home of distinction and quality. The cobalt blue is thick, hand painted ceramic. It gives the blue a raised height that adds a smooth glistening texture to the pattern. This added dimension adds elegance to the sense of touch as well as the sense of sight. Such elegance is lost in the flat two dimensional printed patterns being mass produced today. The raised ceramic pattern is an expansion of the fine Moriage technique seen in antique Asian china. The bold yet gracefully flowing lines of the dragons, vines, griffins, and urns create a mythological setting reminiscent of a medieval fairy-tale. ...

  • Wedgwood Florentine W1956 Cobalt

This has been my favorite pattern since the early 70's when I first saw it in Black and White. Once I saw the Cobalt, I was sold. Been collecting it ever since, but WISHED I had learned earlier that there were pieces sold in Europe that were NEVER sold in the US. '
