  • Black Stone Cherry (self-titled)

I decided to search for Black Stone Cherry's self-titled debut CD upon noticing that they'd opened for several of my favorite bands. The band also had a catchy name and I was fond of their musical influences and interested to hear how they meshed their various influences together. After listening to a couple of their songs on YouTube, I was convinced to order it. I'd read reviews commenting on how raw the CD sounded and I tend to agree. And I think that trait is a positive one...very fresh. While BSC is classified as blues/rock/southern rock, I found nearly half of the album's songs to be on the harder side bordering metal, while only 2 or 3 had blues overtones. The southern rock can be heard in the lead singer's voice, but in little else. Overall, a ...

  • Black Stone Cherry Squared

Just saw Black Stone Cherry in Glasgow supporting Def Leppard and Whitesnake and they were awesome. The album lives up to that, the two don't always go hand in hand, and a new one is in the pipeline. They played through their own stacks and not the PA and still rocked the house. They're back in Glasgow in the autumn and I'll be there again. Back to the album - if you like good rock and stand up riffs, buy it. I'm sure they'll go far, and I'm sure I'll be a fan for the whole journey. To those reviewers who have, in so many words, said same old same old, have you never been influenced by anyone or anything? You can hear influences in any band and any band worth its salt will gladly tell you who they were influenced by growing up or when learning their ...

  • You will not be disappointed with this music!

Southern rock meets heavy metal. Hard to find the words to describe how great this band is. Strong vocals, loud bass & guitar w/ variety--drummer is great too;) These guys make it all sound cool. And you won't find a song that sounds like the one before it. They are awesome!! I went to the Carnival of Madness tour & hadn't even heard of this band. Out of the 5 bands that played that night, they were my favorite. I had to buy all 3 cd's & that's all I play now.

  • Black Stone Cherry - Self Titled

This first effort of the group is right on! Scoring a Major break out Hit with "Lonely Train", these guys showed their southern rock roots and put the world on notice that they were for real. Introspective lyrics paired with precise musicianship makes these guys a young band to watch. I have seen them LIVE and they really know how to "Rock The House"! I would not hesitate to drive 2 hours in any direction to see them again! Do yourself a favor, and pick this CD up!!

  • Southern Rock

If you like southern rock with slammin guitars, this is an album for you, they have a great vocal range as well as versitility with the type of music they play. This is one of the best bands I have heard in a while.
