Seller Notes: “Vintage Hamilton Sentinel, 100% Original, This was the very first watch released by Hamilton with a ... “Vintage Hamilton Sentinel, 100% Original, This was the very first watch released by Hamilton with a center sweep second, It was released to the public in October 1940, This original model with the 987S movement is RARE and seldom seen due to low production, It was only produced 3 months in 1940, and part of 1941, In 1942 Hamilton stopped making the Sentinel for 4 years during World War 2 to supply the Marine Corps and Navy with their super accurate 987S "Hack" movement Military watches. After WW2, Hamilton once again produced a "similar looking" watch available to the public called the "Secometer", but never produced the Sentinel again, The case is high polished 10 Karat Yellow Gold Filled that measures 28.65mm by 35.80mm, Powered by the original, 6/0 size, 017 jewel, caliber 987S, center sweep second, Hack precision manual wind movement, This seldom seen Sentinel has the original 2-tone silvers dial, it has the original stitched pigskin strap + a NOS 1940s strap! Running FINE!!”
