About this product

Product Information

Need for Speed: ProStreet brings the underground street-racing scene into the light with sanctioned competitions held across the globe. Multiple events are held on such real-world tracks as Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, Willow Springs, and the Autobahn. The goal throughout each point-to-point or closed circuit course is to be crowned "street king" by defeating rivals in drag, grip, drift, and speed challenges. A wide assortment of cosmetic and performance enhancements are available to tune cars, and a real-time damage system means prized vehicles can actually be totaled during races.

Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game allow users to custom design their rides on the Internet and then save their "blueprints" to either their Xbox Live Gamertag or PS3 ID for use in races. Another new online feature is the ability to create custom challenges called "race days," where players set the location, race type, car classes, and other variables before sending out invitations to friends. ProStreet includes licensed car models from such auto manufacturers as Nissan, Subaru, BMW, Ford, Audi, Acura, Chrysler, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Volkswagen.

  • Decent game

Need for Speed Prostreet is a very different game as far as the Need for Speed titles go, so much so that it may not even merit the title. The game itself is much more challenging than your average racer because of the controls and more realistic scenarios, wherein you have to pay for repairs to your car or risk disabling it. Every bump counts towards your vehicles damage, and so you have to be cautious of turns and air time; unlike other Need for Speed games you can't simply drift a turn and use walls as cushions. The controls are very different from most other racing games, and it is the first one I have come across that requires clutching for a manual transmission. It is almost necessary to jamb four or five buttons in quick succession in order to take sharp turns. Further, the basis ...

  • Average at best

Its average at best. Definitely not the best franchise like the person below. This game didn't do well in its release so that persons statement is invalid. At the time of this games release Grid was also out and honestly that was better than this. This game is basically Grid but more based on tuners. While it has a decent selection of luxurious and exotic cars its more based on tuners. Has a few ugly muscle cars. Its all closed tracks and the car physics in this game was good at its time. Pro street is basically a unsuccessful version of Shift since it handles that way. You are better off playing that game rather than this. This game you play as Ryan Cooper. You don't get to play as yourself and it slightly ruins the gameplay. Pro street has some odd experiments such as if you crash your ...

  • Good game, but very buggy!

I love the fact you can really customize your cars in this game and the effects are noticable to a degree. It seams as the cars get faster and you have more power, it is nearly impossible to tune them to be tame enough to handle most courses. That said I LOVE the damage mode and the effects it has on your car for racing. Also its fun on occasion to completely demolish the car and have it totalled, but annyoing at times. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT Update the game. Just play it as is and ignore all the updates. The update is buggy, takes away one of the cheat codes, and ulitmatley will stop you from completing the game, since you get to a point where it just keeps crashing. Then you will have to start all over, and delete the update. How do I know? Cause I did it. It sucked. So dont ...

  • Decent game B-

You can customize your vehicles in any which way you desire. Performace, appearance, roll cages, and just about everything else. The online ability to play lacks the players (willing to race online) needed to have a multiplayer game going. Solo player is very intense, although you get a little burnt out of the "same ol game" over and over just on different race tracks. Graphics are ok, but you go so fast once you aftermarket part the heck out of your car that you begin to not notice anything but your car on the race track. Plus, when you completely trick out your car with high-performance parts...you beging to race a vehicle that is too fast for the twists and turns on the technical race tracks. Fixing up your vehicle every race from the damage you cause gets a bit lame (just knowing ...
