About this product

Product Information

Players take the role of the darker, grittier James Bond in Quantum of Solace, the first 007 game from publisher Activision. Following Daniel Craig's portrayal of a violent, driven Bond, the young MI6 agent's methods may be messy, but he is ultimately effective. Gameplay features plenty of gun-fighting and hand-to-hand combat, as well as surveillance and stealth sequences. The game is built on Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 game engine, and features similar graphical quality, third-person cut-aways, and lively enemy AI.

The setting and story of Quantum of Solace are based directly on the movies, both Casino Royale and its sequel, which shares the game's title and autumn 2008 release. Developers re-created locations from both films, based on thousands of photos. All main characters have the likenesses and voices of their cinematic counterparts, including Craig as Bond and Olga Kurylenko as Camille, plus Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Eva Green, and Mads Mikkelsen in their respective roles.

The Xbox 360 edition of the game displays high-definition graphics, with cut-scenes that blur the line between conventional cinema and computer animation. Xbox Live subscribers can join online multiplayer games, in a variety of modes, for as many as 12 players.

Fun levels and smooth graphics/ controls

I recently played the PS2 version and was curious to see how the Xbox 360 version was and it's way better. The PS2 one does the best with what it has to work with, but this a fun game on the 360. The graphics are smooth (no jaggies or rough edges), controls feel nice, and it mixes up the 1st person with 3rd person cover system well. Normally I'm not a fan of the cover and shoot games because the aiming can be a pain if the camera/ controls are clunky, but they got it right on this one. If you're a fan of Goldeneye on N64 and action games in general, I recommend it.

    Game doesn’t work.

Game infinitely loads after opening cut scene. Visible scratches throughout on disc when light shines on disc. Tried cleaning it and loading it up many times. Also game doesn’t install past 16%. F to my $7

  • Quantum of Solace (Xbox 360, 2008)

I played this game at a friends house and was needing to buy it. Introducing a more lethal and cunningly efficient Bond, the game blends intense first-person action with a unique third-person cover combat system that allows players to truly feel what it is like to be the ultimate secret agent as they use their stealth, precision shooting and lethal combat skills to progress through missions. Blending the action of the "Quantum of Solace" feature film with the "Casino Royale" movie, the title propels players into the cinematic experience of international espionage. Based on the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare game engine that has been specifically engineered to immerse players in the Bond universe, the Quantum of Solace game delivers high-definition graphics, reactive AI and visually ...

  • Good Bond Game

I am a huge james bond fan and this is by far better then any EA james bond game, but with that said, it still is not as good as goldeneye for nintendo 64. But if you go back to goldeneye now it is virtually unplayable compared to modern games. The cover system in QoS is very similar to R6 Vegas and Gears of War, except it can be buggy at times. This can be frustrating while playing on 007 Agent mode because it is very tough and you die in 1-2 shots. Every review says the game is like 5-7 hours long, but they obviously played it on easy because it took me about 15-20 hours on 007 Agent mode. Multiplayer is fairly simple, yet fun. The game runs on the Call of Duty 4 game engine, which makes it feel like COD4 in a way, but it tends to have a slower framerate then COD4 which may turn of ...

  • Gimpy Graphics, Fun Gameplay, Good Actors = OK Game

PROS Using Cover - QoS uses the Call of Duty 4 engine, but unlike COD4, you can position your character behind cover and blindfire. This radically changes gameplay, allowing you to move very close to enemies without being killed. Your character can run and slide into cover as well, making you a hard-to-hit target. Nice! Voice Acting – Activision went all the way and obtained the original actors for the voice overs, except for perhaps Eva Green. This retains the feel of the Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace movies. Choose Your Weapon (Online) – Instead of giving you preselected guns as you earn credits (like COD4 or CODW@W), QoS allows you to pick which guns/perks to spend your credits on (like BFBC). My advice? Get the A4 Hutchison Shotgun, a Silencer, Increased Bullet Damage, a ...
