This is a basic pattern by Simplicity no longer in print and I am so glad I found it! It was well-packaged and arrived in the time expected, even a day earlier. Pattern is complete and uncut as described with the pattern envelope showing only very minimal wear in two corners, probably due to age. Thank you!

  • The Concert for Bangladesh (2005, DVD)

A "must have" documentary for anyone interested in the evolution of rock 'n roll history. This pretty well marks the reemergence of George Harrison (post Beatles) and Eric Clapton (post Derek & The Dominoes)as dominant figureheads in the rock world. Add Ringo Starr, Leon Russell and Bob Dylan to the mix and you have essentially one concert with all of the necessary musical influences to provide one with the "Concert of a Lifetime". Even more important is the fact that it was in a smaller venue where people actually sat down and enjoyed the music without all of the hassles of rain, no food or water and access to restrooms. Add to that the warm up act of Ravi Shankar and his eastern influence and you have an afternoon and evening of something totally bizarre and, at the same time, ...

  • Worth Owning for the Historic Value Alone

Bangladesh was the forefather of the live aid types of concerts. Here George, with a little help from his friends (including Ringo, Eric Clapton and Dylan), pulled together a wonderful concert event to help the people of Bangladesh. It has often been reported that George extended the invite to both Paul and John to join him with both declining (now that would have been some concert). The packaging for the deluxe set is great. The DVDs have plenty of extras and the concert is a joy to watch. What struck me was the total absence of flashy showmanship - just no nonsense, bare knuckles playing by a line-up of musicians who were very much the upper echelon of the rock scene at the time. One oddity was Badfinger being relegated to back-up (acoustic guitars) with no spotlight songs. Most ...

  • Wow...

...1971 and these guys were all on top of their game. Yeah, Clapton was battling demons, Dylan was a recluse, but George (still riding high from his first solo Lp "All things must Pass", managed to pull them in and put on a truely historic concert. For me the never before seen performances were a real treat...George & Dylan harminizing "If not for You" and a Dylan's "Love -zero/no lmit" that finds his voice in perfect form for the song. The one thing that really shows through on this concert is the lack of ego, the togetherness with which all brought to the stage is impressive & the music is made better because of it...if you own only one great DVD concert (who can have only one), make this it, you won't regret it

  • great concert/documentary
