Superb sound quality regardless of price
I own 2 Denon AVR-1804’s. If you can live without built-in blue tooth and some other handy gadgetry, the sound quality of these amps is phenomenal. At the going prices, there’s no better sound per dollar out there. Superior to Yamaha’s of the same vintage (I own one). Slightly less intuitive remote and user interface but sounds quality makes up for it.

GREAT RECEIVER
I have a used 1804 I purchased off Ebay back in Sept. 2006 and it's worked flawlessly. This unit replaced my 2-channel Adcom 545II amp & 555II preamp that were driving very power hungry Bose 10.2 Series II. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. Although the mid-ranges sound slightly colorized or bright with harder rock rock music; country, light/pop rock, jazz, and aucustic/coffee-house music sounds great. The movie surround modes is were the unit really shines and comes to life. Plenty of power to spare and nice separation. Sound comes at you, over you, or around you just as it should. A nice feature is the low, med., & high dynamic compressions for movies to balance out those movies with overbearing music and sound effects. The set-up was easy. There is ...
