  • Amusing Tale

If you have an affinity for "Lady Barbra," then chances are you'll like this movie. This movie was produced in the time period in which Barbra Streisand was making a great many musicals... not the time when she eventually evolved into accepting roles that were more dramatic and serious, and her singing relegated to a theme song or some other part of the movie soundtrack. The concept presented in the movie is intriguing and was relatively original for its time. Although Ms. Streisand sings in this movie, it does not necessarily classify as a musical (In comparison to Funny Girl or Hello, Dolly!). But you do get music, of course, and she never fails to please in that capacity. Her character "Daisy" (Like many others she portrayed during this period) is obnoxious and kooky - albeit ...

  • Stellar Entertainment

I think this movie shows what a truly great actress is Barbara Streisand. The role of Daisy Gamble gives Ms Streisand the full spectrum of characters to play as she romps through past lives and personifies a Gold Digger from the 19th century. The story has twists and turns and through the development of her character you see the Gold Digger has a heart and just wants to be loved. And that love leads to her demise. But alas, I am leading you to the ending too soon. Well, actually it is not really the ending since that all happened in the past and the present is truly the important part of the film. Confused? Well, this film is a bit of a roller coaster ride but it is so worth it. So sit in the front sit, buckle up and go with the twists and turns. You'll be pleasantly surprised how it all ...

  • Musical worth watching-Young Barb S. a joy to watch.

Musicals are not my favorite type of movie - there are only about 3 I will watch. This is one of them. The first movie I can remember seeing that was about the supernatural in any way. Barbara seeks out hypno therapy to quit smoking so she can please her uptight finance. The professor who hypnotizes her discovers she can easily access previous lifetimes under hypnosis. Attraction blossoms between the past life of the woman wanting to quit smoking and the professor (who can't stand the current woman's personality). Problems arise, of course, and hard decisions are finally made when the professor finds where he fits in her many lifetimes. A good flick to while away an afternoon - don't expect too much - kind of late 60's early 70's feel to it.

  • Classic Streisand

This is a classic Barbara Streisand movie, lots of singing and some goofiness. this was what Babs was all about in the 60s and early 70s. The movie is about a woman who goes to a Doctor to help her quit smoking and under hypnosis it is discovered that she has had past lives. great cameo roles for Bob Newhart and Jack Nicholson
