Notes
Triple CD set from the American rockers, recorded live at the Roxy in Atlanta, GA on December 31, 1999. This particular evening ushered in a new century and millennium and called for something truly magical - and that nights show at Atlanta's historic Fox theater delivered it. What made the show so extraordinary? for starters, Little Milton, one of Warren Haynes' most important influences, joins Gov't Mule for six songs including 'I Can't Quit You Baby' and 'It Hurts Me Too'. Other special guests include longtime Mule friends and collaborators Audley Freed (Black Crows), Robert Kearns, Johnny Mosier, Mark Van Allen and Barry Richman. Secondly, this show contains many Mule covers played for the first time including the Black Crows 'Sometimes Salvation' and King Krimson's '21st Century Schzoid Man'. Painstakingly remixed and premastered from the original master tapes, Millennium sounds even fresher than ever before.

  • All the power, no filler just killer

For "Mule Heads" this 3 cd release from an outstanding show on the last day of 1999 is just a bonus. Parts of this show have been put on past releases, but now you have it in its entirety. The songs played that evening are essentially a list of the bands best earliest material along with a sprinkling of some killer cover songs thrown in for good measure. Everyone knows that Gov't Mule is an impressive band to see live, but if you've not been able to see one of their shows this set will easily give you the feel of having been to one. I highly recommend it as a must own to all Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule fans, but folks who also like bluesy hard rock would really dig this too. As live recordings go, this is an easy 4 stars.
