I love the look of this coffee maker. It takes some finessing and waiting but it brews a nice cup of coffee and it looks great on your counter. I would recommend to coffee lovers who want to try new ways of brewing coffee.

Bodum Chambord 8 cup French Press Coffee Maker (1928)
I've always drank tons of coffee and usually from a standard coffee maker. I bought a portable french press that held about 2-3 cups and liked it till I purchased this item. I'll never use anything but this item until it breaks or I can find one that makes 20 cups, and has such an intricate filtering system. Flavor: The difference in flavor is absolutely incredible. Reading the guide it mentions how the standard coffee makers (and even a few french press coffee makers) use a paper filter. The paper filter filters out the grounds but also inadvertently filters out some essential oils and acids inside the grounds that really, really affect the flavor of the coffee. Making the coffee: This model makes 8 cups (from the guide, "1,25 dl/4 oz. cup) using 1 rounded tablespoon ... I've always drank tons of coffee and usually from a standard coffee maker. Making the coffee: This model makes 8 cups (from the guide, "1,25 dl/4 oz. cup) using 1 rounded tablespoon (comes with a short handled measuring spoon) and you simply add very hot water and let it sit 4 minutes; press the handle down slowly until it hits the bottom--trapping the coffee grounds at the bottom. I honestly didn't read past the first little page of the round accordion instruction manual, but it was very easy to see at the top if you twist the stainless cover left or right there is also a strainer built into the lid for extra protection from grounds. You can then pour your coffee that will be ground free and absolutely full of delicious coffee. Warning: resist the urge to add boiling water. The instructions will tell you not to, and I'm not sure why, but there are two reasons you shouldn't. One is you'll be waiting forever before you can drink it without burning your mouth. The other reason is the coffee will taste differently from how it is supposed to be done. Cleaning: Is very,very simple. The item is stainless and glass with a stainless filter that can be used for a very very long time if taken care of. Filter: I've seen other models with the wire mess over the stainless circular strainer but this one has a very intricate mess web on the sides that comes out to fit snuggled up against the inside of the beaker. The filter system on this model seems to have 2 layers more plus the stainless wrap on the sides. I've not seen one with the detailed of a filter on it before. New from the site online this particular model is 88 dollars new. There are some deals here on Ebay to be had. Enjoy!

Get maximum flavor from your coffee.
The 8 cup (remember-that's 8 four ounce cups) Bodum Chambord is our first ever French press. My wife and I have long enjoyed fine coffees. We kept hearing that a French press produced the finest flavored cup. To see if we would be able to taste the difference my wife and I asked the folks at our local Starbucks if they would make our favorite blend with their French press. WOW! We came home, did some research and bought the Bodum Chambord. We like it so much that after using it for a week we stored away the drip coffee maker for those times when we have company and need to make 12 cups (American 8 oz. cups) at a time. We find that since the coffee from the French press is much richer we are satisfied with the quantity produced by one pot full. Since there is no warming plate beneath ... Since there is no warming plate beneath this pot I thought at first that I should have purchased the more expensive double wall pot for its thermal properties. But, then I remembered that my Scottish grandmother always kept her teapot hot on the table by covering it with a "tea cozie." That did the trick for us. You may need to experiment with the grind of your coffee. We've learned that if the grind isn't coarse enough the plunger is hard to press down and you will have to learn to avoid a layer of fine sludge at the bottom of your cup. We solved this problem by investing in a good quality conical burr coffee grinder. Cleaning the pot and its internal workings is a breeze. Parts of it are dishwasher safe but it's so easy I prefer to wash it by hand. We have read complaints about the carafe being cheap and easy to break. We don't agree. Just use a little care when you remove it from the stand (that facilitates washing). If you do happen to break the carafe replacements are readily available. As you have probably guessed we highly recommend this product.

Some Of the Best Coffee I've Ever Had
This coffee maker produces awesome coffee and has a very professional looking design. When I got mine I made a cup of my average cheap costing joe and was amazed at how different and better it tasted coming out of this. After that I figured that I'd test out some of the spendy stuff. So, I went to the coffee shop and got some fresh beans for a rather high price. I tryed it and now I'm in love. If you want great tasting coffee get a maker like this one, you won't regret it.This coffee maker produces awesome coffee and has a very professional looking design.
