About this product

Product Information

Atlus' successful surgery series returns to Wii with the option of working closely with a friend to perform life-saving operations. Playable doctors Markus Vaughn and Valerie Blaylock not only have to rescue critically ill patients, they must also endure workplace politics and even a government conspiracy. The anime-style storyline is once again told through a series of hand-drawn still images, but voice overs now accompany the text. Motion-sensitive controls involve using the Wii Remote as a tool to perform specific tasks, from removing tumors to suturing wounds to suctioning out excess fluid.

As in the first game, operations and illnesses lean toward the surreal, and human anatomy has been simplified so as not to distract (or disturb) those who don't normally use scalpels and forceps. While the surgical instruments are identical to those found in Second Opinion, new techniques and challenges will require an even steadier hand and quicker reflexes. After each timed operation, players can submit their co-op or solo scores online via wireless broadband connection. New Blood features a seven-episode campaign with 50 surgeries to complete in total. Three difficulty settings are also included for a custom challenge.

  • Great 2 player experience

This game is good for 2 players. If you don't know what trauma center is, you basically perform operations which are mainly fictitious but they do make you feel like a real surgeon. The game is appropriate for children, because although there is blood and guts, it is all very cartoony and not gross to look at. The game itself is pretty long, with something like 40 operations with 3 difficulty levels, and a few challenges also. The single player is very difficult and will be hard for some even on easy. The co-op is great, its completely incorporated into the main game, so two players can perform any operation. The tasks become a lot easier and its much more fun being able to work together to cure people. The storyline is interesting at points, but can drag on. However there is ...

  • New Blood (Wii, 2007) good one !

Great for 2 players. trauma center is,basically perform operations which are mainly fictitious but they do make you feel like a real surgeon. great timely managment vs sence of urgency guide line arrount like 40 operations with 3 difficulty levels, challenges also. The single player is very difficult The 2 players is great, Overall I gave this a 4/5 rating, because its enjoyable and gives you a good challenge. not perfect but really fun and good game strongly recomended

  • Wii TRAUMA First Blood

I purchased this Wii game as my daughter requested it for a Christmas gift. It is a very fun family game. It is NOT gory or bloody as I thought it might be. The story lines are interesting. It almost appears out of date, but they are in a hospital in Alaska, kind of a remote location. That is what makes the emergencies REALLY emergencies. This adds to the excitement of the game. It is a bit difficult to always know what to do, or what tools to use. However, the game does highlight and talk you through the procedure. You will need a steady hand to stitch the patient up at the end of the operation. All, in all, a fun and engrossing game. Would definitely recommend.

  • Good but not great. Has great potential.

I thought this would be a fun game from all the reviews I read. Turns out it is just okay. I would like a lot more out of it, especially by allowing laproscopic procedures. The game is set in the future and so far I have not even seen technology like scopes and robotics being used to perform surgeries in the game (things that are becoming standard in surgeries even today). I will say that it is a fairly entertaining and at times difficult game, but it gets a little monotonous. I am a medical student and would love more realism, but I am still happy with the purchase and my wife likes to play with me. I would not have been happy if I had paid full price for the new game ($52). Get it used or buy it new for cheap. You'll enjoy it more. Overall, the game has great potential. I'm ...
