    Great Idea Does NOT work with iPod Classic

    I like the large screen I like the picture quality. Sound is great. This portable DVD player is everything you could every want in a low end iPod dock included Portable DVD player. Do not purchase this if you have iPod Classic. I actually sold my iPod Classic and purchased a 5th gen iPod so I could use it with this product. It's got the SD card slot for video and pictures and it plays DIVX so you don't have to worry about playing those "backup" discs you've been burning all night long. The only thing about this product that would make it excellent would be a way to mount it in the car without having to purchase one of those cheesy bags. Phillips makes another product that mounts right on the back of the car seat. They should sell those separately and make sure all their products ...

    Portable DVD player with Ipod dock

    Love the picture on this player. It is clear and crisp. The sound is clear and it seem to have more volume then our last portable DVD player. It is loud enough for an entire room to hear music play if you'd like it to. My daughter likes to jam out to her IPOD tunes when she is cleaning. The screen is large enough for 2-3 people to watch it from a short distance. Being able to swivle the screen is a great feature. The IPod dock/player makes this DVD player above the rest. Not only can you charge the IPod you can play it. This will be great for vacations and sleep overs. Product is easy to operate. My 12 year old has no difficulty using this product and she also gives it 2 thumbs up.

    Good player

    Item as described, looks like new, also provided unlocking code to unlock DVD region. Device has good features: watch movie from sd card, just now I found only 3 lack on this device - no volume control on remote. No usb (usb memory) support. When play from SD card remaining time always on the screen (you can turn off with remote control only!) But anyway design is nice, picture - good, sound - good. Battery life looks good.

    Portable DVD with IPOD Dock

    Philips is the only brand that makes a all in one portable DVD and IPOD viewer. The DCD850/37 and 750 Were the first and last units out there that does it all! The picture and sound are acceptable with a large 8 inch screen and 2 small speakers. The DVD picture is better then the IPOD picture because you can adjust the color. The unit is also very light. The only thing I dislike is the internal battery. When the battery does not hold a charge anymore there is no way to fix it. You can't even open the unit yourself to take it out to try to fix it. In short when the battery is gone the unit will only work plug into a wall or car lighter.

    Decent DVD Portable with Big Screen

    Most people need to know only a few things. 1) does it play avi and related files (i,e, QT files and the like) 2) How does the iPod junction work? 3) Ease of use. The answer to 1 is yes, it will play a simple PC/Mac DVD or even a movie DVD for that matter without problem. If its a backup of movie files, then a menu will pop up and you can use the included remote to browse thru it to play the movie you want. I rip DVD's from time to time and make a single back up of the movie with 4-5 others on a -R or +R disc. No problems ever. iPod interface means removing the remote and pluging in the iPod Video. Voila, DVD station. Make sure your iPod settings are for TV out. Otherwise you spend 40 minutes wondering why no video. Very simple to use even if you don't read the manual. Only ...
