About this product

Product Information

Nothing is as American as baseball, and kids playing baseball during the summer is a time-honored tradition as seen on 'The Sandlot' DVD. Watch these all-American kids work together to beat the other teams in the neighborhood while getting into all kinds of trouble in between. When a ball is hit over the outfield fence, it is feared lost forever because of 'the Beast' and the mean old man who live in the adjoining lot. This is a great DVD to show a baseball team or a group of kids just looking to beat the heat on a hot summer day.

    Great Summer movie

This is a great film for young and old. It has mystery, comedy, a little bit of family issues. The characters are each different and yet they fit great together. I didn't think I would like this movie, but I gave it a chance and was glad I did. It's a great movie for summer, for boys, for the family, just a well rounded movie.

  • Benny Rodriguez Lives and Breathes Baseball

This is a classic movie. I can watch this over and over. Great fun and excitement. Truly team work. The neighborhood kids gather at local 'Sand lot' to play ball. Benny Rodriquez is just hooked on baseball. He gets the neighborhood kids to play every day. There is one kid, Smalls, who is clumsy as all heck. They're playing and the ball flies over the fence where they believe this killer dog / monster dog exists. It's quite funny and they are pretty clever. They also learn who Babe Ruth is as well as his friend George. A great movie to add to your collection.

  • All time favorite!

This is my all time favorite movie! I bought this so that I can enjoy it with my 2 daughters. My oldest had already seen it before my youngest had never seen it. They both loved it as much as I do. Great quality dvd. In its original packaging of a hard cover case

  • Simple, fun movie about young boys and their adventures as kids playing baseball.

Perfect for young boys. Not G-rated, but great fun. Some really memorable lines.

  • We played softball back in the 60's but it still shot me right back.

This is a wonderful movie for today's kids (esp. BOYS) and any guys who lived through the summer of (or era of) 1962. A love of baseball/stick ball/softball)/etc. is certainly helpful but not necessary to enjoy this movie. **MOST IMPORTANT, when you watch the scene at the public pool, you must remember that I said that Squints was, is, and always will be the NUMBER 1 bravest/coolest kid that EVER walked the earth and many of us so envy the shear guts and imagination of his preteen years....enough said! BTW: that's him in the thick glasses on the lower right of the cover picture. Remember that face!
