    Excellent book.

    The second of five books in the "Paradise" series by Parker...although predictable in the Parker style in terms of two sub-plots involving egotistically naive people who run afoul of the law in one way or another, I enjoyed reading this Jesse Stone novel as much as the others. Parker's characters are believable and Stone brings a gritty and straightforward approach to police work. There is satisfaction to be gained in reading about the comeuppance of belligerent defense attorneys, obnoxious citizens and arrogant volunteer leaders. Parker also gives us an alcoholic cop whose struggles are realistic.

    Robert Parker's Trouble in Paradise

    I am very fond of my two favorite Parker characters, Spenser and Jesse Stone. I relate Spenser with the actor Robert Urich, deceased, and all the settings in and around Boston. I am from Massachusetts. I just dicovered the Jesse Stone stories, playing the part is Tom Selleck, in the TV series. What's not to like Tom Selleck?? The stories also that place in MA. I had all the paper backs, but was missing "Trouble in Paradise". I was delighted when I received both books in hard back.

    Great storyline.

    I enjoyed the book even more than the made-for-tv movie. My only negative comment is the dust jacket didn't have the initlal sales price on inside flap.
