Good content if you pay the right price.
Ahh, Lord of the Rings Online. How you addict me. I picked the game up in early beta and have been playing since. The LotR:O Special Edition doesn't contain any extra special features for the game, apart from a semi-meh crystal. This is a tad disappointing, but it's something we MMO players have learned to deal with. Where the Special Edition really shines is the bonus multimedia content. The Soundtrack CD is stellar. The music is ripped straight out of the game and sounds absolutely great! The DVD is also great, if a bit short. It offers some really awesome insight into the development process and has the Turbine crew explaining every little thing about what made them do what. Good and bad
Excellent adaption of Lord of the Rings. Satisfies your inner Tolkien nerd. However, as with all MMOs, grinding is the worst and eventually drains the fun from the game.

The best fantasy MMORPG around at the moment
I have intensively played original Everquest, Everquest II and World of Warcraft, as well as dipping into many more for the trial period or the beta. But I now play LOTRO exclusively as it is the one that sets the standards for others to match. Why? - The number one reason is an unfair advantage really: the unbeatable game universe (courtesy of JRR Tolkien). Most other fantasy milieux are insipid Middle Earth rip-offs, with similar races, languages and history; better to immerse yourself in the real thing. It is also true to the spirit of the book and not to the films, which to my mind is a major bonus. - Beautifully realised graphically, but still playable on a fairly basic PC. - Playability: the game mechanics have been taken from many of the best elements of other games, but make for a ... LOTR Shadow of Angmar-Great Game
This was the best game in the series until Mines of Moria, and the Special Edition set is much worth they buy. Behind the scenes making, construction, it's all there and also includes small map...very good set.
