    We Were Soldiers Once; and Young –

    An excellent book; well written. I had no idea about the Yellow Cab notifications early in the war (conflict) or the Death Certificate issues at that time that were not resolved for some years. I was in Pleiiku 5 years later during the Agent Orange era. I love my country, but it’s government is capable of anything.

    THIS MEN WERE SO BRAVE AND SUFFERED SO MUCH THAT IT HAS BEEN WITH ME FOR YEARS I WAS A TEENAGER AND SO ANGRY AT HOW THEY WERE TREATED THE TRUTH WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH WE LOST -- A WHOLE GENERATION OF MEN WHO COULD HAVE BEEN ANYTHING JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND THE UNPATRIOTIC EMOTIONS OF THE US AND THE PEOPLE INVOLED WITH MAKING LIFE BAD FOR THEM WE HAVE WHAT WE HAVE IN THIS NATION BECAUSE OF THE FINE BOYS AND MEN WHO LOVED AMERICA AND DIED FOR AN UNGRATEFUL PEOPLE AND WERE OR LOST HEROES. GOD BLESS THEM ALL AND THE ONES THEY LEFT BEHIND.     General Moore's book "We Were Soldiers Once, and Young

    General Moore gives a much more accurate picture of the Viet Nam War than we usually see. There is a lot worth reading in the book, but I wish he did not use profanity. If someone said, "Hand me that...rifle, he did not have to spell it out. He could have use..., or he could have used the word (bleep). There is no need to spell out obscenities.

    Very good read!

    I purchased this book for my husband. He considers the Viet Nam war "his war." He normally reads pretty slowly, but he is devouring this book. We would recommend it. :)
