The listing didn’t state one side was not working. The battery leaked all over and the packaging was just an envelope no padding. Please do better.

Good, clear headphones designd with airline travel in mind

These headphones are comfortable, lightweight, and reasonably durable. The noise-canceling feature isn't all that great in office settings; I suspect that it's more attuned to the noise of jet engines and propellers, a thought that's bolstered by the inclusion of airplane plug adapters. Sound is clear and accurate, but is even better with a little bass boost on the equalizer.

  • Great quality for desktop listening with advanced equalization.

This set still offers great value and quality with an advanced entertainment system. These headphones sound best with at least 24db of equalization ranged from at least 30hz to 16khz (20hz to 20khz over no less than 15 bands is ideal) and are therefore not good for portables although they are sensitive enough for low powered devices. The internal amplifier must be activated for best sound quality and distortion will increase dramatically if the battery falls below 1.4 volts therefore you'll need a large supply of new alkaline batteries at all times to ensure the highest sound quality. (AAA batteries supply 1.5 volts new and most single-cell devices can operate cleanly down to one volt, do not use rechargeables which will only supply 1.3 volts at full charge.) The noise cancelling feature ...

  • Sony MDR-NC6 Noise-cancelling Headphones - Refubished

Sony MDR-NC6 Noise-cancelling Headphones are still going for $70-95 USD online, but on ebay you can find reburbished units for less than half. I gave it an average rating only because I've already used a higher model Sony Noise-cancelling Headphone, on a previous trip, and to be honest, they've made significant adjustments and upgrades in their more recent line-up. But in all fairness, the Sony MDR-NC6 works fine. I took them to Asia and without them or with the Noise-cancelling feature turned-off, the difference is noticeable, but not mind-blowing... like I said, I've used better. I'd give it 3 to 3.5 out-of 5 and would suggest the refurbished models to people thinking to use such accessories only a few times. I also demo tested a few other models, in ...

  • Good choice the right appliclations

I just purchased my second pair of Sony MDR-NC6 headphones. The reasons for this are 3 fold. First; they sound very good, second; the first set I had stopped working and third; they're cheap enough to consider giving another chance. These are great to use at the gym on the eliptical or treadmill but a little large when traveling. The sound dampening option works moderately well and they are comfortable to wear. These are definitly NOT studio or audiophile quality headphones but they are well worth the money for most usages.

  • Sony Headphones not exactly what I thought

I hoped to buy noise cancelling headphones to wear when reading while my guys watch their loud tv football games. These are not noise cancelling at all even though the phrase is in the item description. However, they are kind of cool. Without plugging them into anything, the headphones actually accentuate the sound coming from the TV...it kind of reduces the flagrant noise and makes it really easy to hear the TV. It is crazy. It would be awesome for an elderly person who has a difficult time hearing the television and drives people out of the living room with the volume turned up so loudly. Not what I hoped, but not a bad deal!
