If you liked "Faith" and "Pornography", this is the album for you.
How can any fan of The Cure or even Robert Smith forget "Disintegration"? Even Kyle of South Park remarked correctly on this one by saying, "Disintegration is the best album EVER!" It truly is. Perhaps one of the best put together pieces ever made by any of them, from start to finish it is truly a masterpiece. It is one of the only albums I can truly listen to start to finish and keep coming back for more! I simply HAD to have it on cassette for old time's sake... You will truly love this album if you're looking for the same sound from "Three Imaginary Boys" with the emotion from "Pornography"... It's exactly that. The instrumental of "Three Imaginary Boys" with the added raw emotion that was found in "Pornography". It also ranges in emotion, exploring what was sadness is in different ... Like "Pictures of You" being a very heartbreaking song with a sort of "smile through the pain" attitude, and then of course the attitude of hopelessness and despair you get from "Closedown" when it seems Robert Smith tries to push on through the despair but can't feel the want to do so. It is truly exceptional, and no one can call themselves a Cure fan if they haven't heard this one. However, it is noted that if you liked "Faith" and "Pornography" than you "must-have" this one for the collection as it is almost like they are the "Holy Trinity" of the Cure fan's collection.
