    Good replacement for HP Pavillion 6000 series

    I ordered this motherboard as a replacement in an HP Pavillion P6000 series. I was able to reuse the original CPU, memory boards, hard drive, case & power supply with no problem. However, I was unable to connect the media card reader to the MB because there was no header that would mate with it's connector.(weird HP design). Otherwise the board worked perfectly, I may try to find an adapter that will allow me to connect to one of the USB headers.

    MSI 785GM-E51 Mainboard

    I purchased the board to unlock a dual core chip to run it as a quad core and was not disappointed. The board and the chip perform great. On the downside, the board only has one fan header. I solved this by getting a power splitter and running 2 fans off one plug. As long as the combined current draw is not too great, this should work ok. The other drawback is the lack of a windows installer for the BIOS. The board has several options to overclock, including hardware switches, which I probably will not use, since I am more than happy with the 4 cores running. While there is no parallel port, there is a header for one if you get the add on connector for it. I am using an old HP LaserJet, and have a parallel to USB adaptor for it.     Great AM3 Budget MOBO!

    A Good budget board for AM3 platform, even with the lack of USB 3.0 and only one PCI-E slot! BIOS has good UI and motherboard has been very responsive
