    While not the easiest of ingredients to find in her two books, Julia Child’s cook books are a great addition to add to one’s cooking library. Much of the stuff is dated from the 50’s and 60’s, but this is exactly what you want for delicious home cooked French Cuisine.

What makes these volumes special is that the explanations are clear and easy to follow unraveling the mystery behind creating french cuisine. Revolutionary when it was released in 1961 and made ever more famous by the film "Julie and Julie" with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, these two volumes are for the person who wants to expand his or her cooking horizons and enjoy learning age-old fine French cooking for the American palette. On New Year's Eve I made Coq Au Vin and served it New Year's Day to the delight and ooohs and ahhhs of my friends and family. Yum!
