About this product

Product Information

In STAR TREK VI - THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, the cold war between the Federation and the Klingons thaws out when the leader of the crumbling alien empire makes a peace offering. Admiral Kirk (Willliam Shatner) and the crew are quickly sent to escort the Klingon ruler to treaty talks, but they unknowingly stumble into the middle of a political assassination--and soon Kirk and Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) are framed for the dignitary's murder. Sent off to a frozen gulag planet, the two plot their escape while Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the rest of the old gang try to find out who the real killer is. The future of the intergalactic peace movement depends on their success.

The Last Voyage of the Orignal Crew

While some of the original cast members would make cameo appearances in subsequent Star Trek films and TV series, this was the final Star Trek film to feature the entire original cast and served as a fitting sendoff some 25 years after the TV series made its debut. Directed by Nicholas Meyer, who had previously helmed Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan almost a decade earlier, this was one of the best of the Star Trek films. It is fast-paced but not frenetic, taking the time needed to keep the story character driven. The deluxe collectors' edition includes a second DVD of bonus material, including 'making of' featurettes, interviews and other goodies, all of which make for an enhanced value proposition that is worth tracking down over the single DVD package.

  • The Undiscovered Country and last Original Cast Movie

Wow, much more enjoyable than the 5th one! This story is about prejudices between the human race and the Klingons as they are attempting to work toward peace. An attack happens that stinks of a frame-job and much of the movie is spent on the whodunit mystery. Shatner and Nemoy as well as the rest of the crew of the Enterprise do an excellent job reprising their roles. George Takei's character has been promoted to Captain of his own ship and he makes an effort to aid when he can. Shatner is beginning to falter a little in his line delivery. I could not stop laughing in the first scene at how premeditated everything he said was and how it came out like a shot! Still, you can't deny his charisma and the ladies can't stay away. The Cold War overtones are very strong and one character quotes ...

  • Great Final for the Great Saga

There are only one trek movie with such amount of talented actors and it's Star Trek 6. Here you will see besides tos crew the performance of "Worf" "Rand" "Odo" they are really great. After all its also the most Klingonish movie ever made. Storyline of it is take direction more to militaristic/politic/cultural than to exploration (ST 5) or fun (ST 4). If you like classic scifi movies you definetly likes this one. ST 6 makes perfect addition to my movie collection of scifi and I think it would makes to your's too. _//

  • I think I just said it all above, Merry Christmas to whom it concerns-----Jerry and Midge!

Sorry I haven't seen this particular movie yet (on DVD), I'm watcjing my Christmas movies right now, but the DVD itself looks to be in good condition, I plan on watching the whole "Star Trek movie series" right after New Years-----Jerry!

  • Star Trek Six The Undiscovered Country

This film was the last to feature the "original" ST crew from the 60's. I remember seeing this in the theater, and thinking "This is it." I grew up with this ST crew, so this movie is near and dear to my heart. The humor, the action, the Klingons, all make it worth while. You gotta' love the purple blood! And Spock making Kim Catrall moan is a scene! The way that this movie and it's settings are refrenced in future Trek projects makes it even more memorable. A must see for any ST fan!
