    "Follow the Fleet"....Astaire / Rogers

    Thei film from 1936..with music by Irving Berlin is a dance-musical masterpiece, growing in appreciation. The modern critics have had trouble with the double-couple format....but in fact, the contrast makes it all the more interesting to an increasing number of people. It includes three wonderful paired dances...and two Astaire solos, and one Rogers solo. At the ending, it features one of the greatest paired dances between a man and a woman of all time: "Let's Face the Music and Dance"...which is a playlet within the film. The prodigious talent..on the part of both Fred and Ginger...to pull it off is on display: pantomime, singing, acting...and of course dancing. This dance alone reaches the level of the sublime. Anyone who has not seen it owes it to themselves to see it before they leave ...

    Eighty Two years later, this film continues to hold up against most films of today. Astaire and Rogers, the Greatest film duo of all time.
