This made-for-Showtime series introduces a misanthropic female college dropout, Georgia "George" Lass (Ellen Muth), whose already mundane life becomes even more annoying when she dies. This series sadly only ran for two seasons. this DVD set allows me the opportunity to see these two great seasons whenever I want!
This set includes all of the episodes of the show from its two seasons plus additional film of cut out material. It is everything a lover of this show could ever want other than to have had the show run for more seasons. This for me is an excellent Compilation.

Dead Like Me - Complete Series Giftset
This series made us explore the darker as well as the lighter side of living and dying. It has huge entertainment and fantasy value. The relationships in families and at work, of the living and dead, were the foundation for great story lines. I was thrilled to see a gift set released with a new movie. The series is great to own, as it was, and is, just as excellent as I remembered it to be. The movie was a big dissappointment. It just didn't quite make the grade. They should have stuck with the original characters, played by the original actors and given the ending the series truly deserved, not a half baked new story that didn't really create the closure I beleive avid fans would have wanted.This series made us explore the darker as well as the lighter side of living and dying. Great Series...terrible movie
This box set is great because you get both seasons and some extra features. I actually bought it because it included the movie, which I really wanted to see. I was very disappointed in the movie. It was badly written, and did not have the same spirit as the original series. Characters act in a way they never would have, especially Roxy. About 1/3 of the cast is missing, including Mandy Patinkin. They also replace the original Daisy actress with a sad imitation. She turns Daisy from humorously irritating and yet sensitive to just irritating. I would definitely recommend this box set to anyone who loved the series. You can just pretend that the movie never happens.This box set is great because you get both seasons and some extra features. BETTER than the TV version!
Each episode, even though I had seen a few on TV, was FAR better than the TV version. There were some short added scenes, and the language was not edited, or deleted! (NOT appropriate for younger or more sensitive viewers) The dialogue was much more accurate to how one would think that "true" Grim Reapers would speak... The whole series is engaging, and funny as hell! Great sleeper series!
This was a series I had never heard of until I stumbled across it once on cables' On Demand. I watched the couple they had and was hooked. So I rented the series and watched the rest. Its one of those shows that just kind of 'sits with you'... you're not sure why you like it so much-you just do. Its full of sarcastic humor... kind of a dark comedy, but not quite. Since I bought it, I have passed it along to 4 different people- who all loved it as well. The newly made movie added in this collectors edition however is a different story - hated it so much, almost wish I had never watched it. They had replaced some characters and left out others (as often happens) and the story line was simply horrible. If you can get the series cheaper without this addition- do it, you're not missing ...
