About this product

Product Information

After the success of "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" on the Game Boy, Nintendo began to work on a sequel. That sequel was split into two games, one of them being "Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages" for the Game Boy Color in 2001. This game is notable for being one of the only Zelda games not created internally at Nintendo. This GBC title was created by Capcom. In "Oracle of Ages," players once again take on the role of the young, witty, and willful main character, Link. However, this adventure does not take place in Hyrule; instead, your quest is in Labrynna. When the evil spirit of Veran possesses Nayru, one of the goddesses, it's up to Link to save the day by traveling through time."Oracle of Ages" is similar to other core entries in the popular Legend of Zelda franchise. Link will navigate the world to find eight essences, which are the key to freeing Nayru. As you play through the title, you'll encounter weapons and items that will help you in your journey. In addition to classic items, such as rings like the Power Bracelet, there are also new items like the Cheval Rope. One new item, the Harp of Ages, is essential to the game's plot. With this item, Link can travel back to the past. For example, a dead tree in the present can be saved by going back to the past and curing its ailment. At first, Link can only use this item at specific time portals. However, later in the story, he can use any location to go in the past. Additionally, you can upgrade your items in "Oracle of Ages." By upgrading an item, you can use it to solve new puzzles and explore new areas. "Oracle of Ages" is heavy on the puzzles, putting an emphasis on them more than the action. Gamers will need to think first and fight later to win this title. This title was released at the same time as "Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons." The two games share functionality with each other. For example, finishing "Ages" gives you a password you can input at the start of "Seasons." You can also carry over weapons and equipment from one title to the other. This Game Boy Color game pushes the system to its limits. The game is twice as large as the previous release on the system. Bosses are huge, often taking up at least half of the screen. The color palette is whimsical and vibrant. No matter how much action is on the screen, the game runs at a smooth frame rate. It will take most gamers about 17 hours to complete the main adventure in this title. However, if you want to collect every item and finish every optional mission, it will take 25 hours. If you're a fan of the series, this title is one quest you might not want to skip. It combines a unique setting with classic gameplay to create an amazing experience.

    A classic

The cartridge looks good, and Game Boy cartridges are known for their durability. The battery save still works. And I have yet to encounter a glitch or any problematic areas of the game. In terms of game quality, this game contains everything you might expect from a Zelda title. Puzzles, combat, dungeons, items, and a cool story. The only pitfall is that sometimes the puzzles are too difficult, or the path forward isn't clear. This shouldn't be a surprise to those familiar with the Zelda series; and I was happy to see that the game would often point me in the right direction when I wasn't sure where to go or what to do. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with the game itself. For every pang of frustration coming from not knowing what to do next, there is a great sense of ...

  • Classic

Very strong 2D Zelda game. I played the Linked game, so there were a few extra perks, but the experience was still bursting with challenging puzzles, characters you like, and a fascinating time-jumping mechanic. The enemies are too easy for hardcore Zelda fans, but they are the focus of Oracle of Seasons. One or two bosses are too difficult, but you will get through them with practice. Highly recommend to those wanting a challenging adventure.

  • One half to one whole awesome adventure!!

For such a large map on such an old hadheld, it's impressive for sure and a MUST HAVE if you already have oracle of seasons as beating both and connecting them via 2 gameboys and a link cable is the only way to play to the true ending of both games

  • A fun and simple classic.

An excellent, classic game. Has great puzzles, endearing visuals and music, and with the rings and other gear to find throughout the game there is a lot to do. Potentially the age on this game might mean you won't be riveted to your bones with it or anything, but it's still a satisfying time.

  • Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

Gameplay is smooth and fairly easy. The story takes you back and forth in time to finally save the Oracle... But the game doesn't have to end there. If you also have the Oracle of Seasons, you can play the connected or linked game. Once you play the linked game, you can play all over again the opposite way in the hero's linked game. It is wonderful and there are a lot of variables. Each time you play, it can be different. Playing both games on the gameboy advance has one benefit, you can get the complete ring collection. When you get the password for the extended game, you can play on the 3DS if you purchased the games through the eShop. The game is full of puzzles. Rest assured, there is always an answer on how to accomplish the task. I have really enjoyed playing this game.
