First saw this on my local Public Television station and was stunned to find most of my favorite music from the 60's and 70's was performed by a core group of studio musicians known as The Wrecking Crew. The Wrecking Crew
This is an absolute must for musicians and fans of any era of music. No one really knew these fantastic musicians were backing all the great songs in the 60s until it was revealed, years later. Many very excellent musicians went on to become stars on their own after they left this group, but most impressive, IMHO, was Leon Russell - The Master Of Space And Time.

Learned more than I expected about the background of the session players used on many of the hits of the era. These professional musicians were super talented and knew their role in the formulation of the music. "The Wrecking Crew" is a movie that explains quite a bit about the background of many of our favorite musical artists, but the thrust of it is the interviews with a selected group of studio musicians, who played on untold numbers of recordings. While it is wonderful to hear & see these characters, and fascinating to watch this DVD, I wanted to hear more of their stories. ...that is a good thing.
