        GREAT Player

        Pros: Packed with features. Makes your normal TV into a smart TV. Apps for all major video services. Firmware updates every few months. Had mine over a year an it's still working great. Keeps you signed into your services. No over-heating problems. No Sony account required. Option to erase all personal information and logins. Cons: Sometimes the firmware updates can break app compatibility; I was unable to use Hulu for 3+ months due to an update. The wifi easy123 connnection can be annoying, best to use it wired. Weak remote range. Overall a fantastic player. I researched many players before settling on this one, and I'm happy I did. Great player since day one and mine was used too boot!

        Great... and NOT so great.

        Love the ability to use a usb stick to play videos and music, including .mp4 video which many blu ray players with this feature do not allow. The picture quality is amazing. The remote is sluggish to respond most times, and you often have to press the remote botton more than once for whatever function you are trying to operate for the player to finally respond. The biggest drawback is, that I spent more and purchased this player for its wi-fi and Bluetooth ability. The wi-fi works great. But the Bluetooth is dead. It does not work. I went online to look for a fix, but instead, I found many other owners of this player with the same problem looking for a fix because, while other blu tooth devices do detect the Sony player, the Sony player does not detect Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth ...

        Giving Sony a Second Chance

        So far so good! One thing you must do with this type of Sony DVD player is hook it up to the internet! I prefer Ethernet cable. Why do this; because the soft wear needs to be updated for the thing to keep working! It updated the first time we turned it on and loaded a movie! Took very little time I had a prior similar model I didn't hook up to the internet and it locked up and wouldn't Work! This unit provides an excellent Picture and the Remote is small but very use able! I would buy it again. I have been Down on Sony Products since that experience with their DVD player. I got rid of my Sony Receiver which also was screwing up and bought Onkyo! The Onkyo is also hooked to the Internet and works perfectly!

        My first time to purchase Disk Player for multiple type of disks. Its weight is so light and small but good quality and play CD, DVD other disk also. It is good to have the one. I like it.

        Well designed, Bluetooth audio, great remote

        I'm happy with this player. Its distinguishing feature is Bluetooth. It's small, and plays a wide variety of video file formats. It presents files in a nice list, and identifies the format. The remote operates the power, input, and volume on a wide variety of TVs. (Check the manual on Sony's site for the list). The remote has subtitle, audio, Bluetooth buttons, so I don't have to dig through menus. The remote works at basically any angle. It won't control the volume for Airpods, but it does for my Sony Bluetooth speaker. It won't play 4K discs, but it upscales to 4K. It works with some streaming services, not all...that's true of competing disc players though. There are 2 large buttons on the front, which are easy to control in the dark.
