      Not your tween pretty boy vamp.

      I happened upon the title of this film by chance one day while reading reviews on other vampire movies. With the recent vampire "craze" in Hollywood turning the undead into whiny beauty queens, I'd been turned off from the genre as a whole. Luckily I gave this one a chance and it did not disappoint. Malkovich was brilliant as Murnau and the vampire Count Orlok helped redeem bloodsuckers from their more recent portrayals. I would highly recommend this film to any hardcore, old school vamp lovers or those just looking for a well written film with solid acting. Don't lose faith just yet. There are still a few ugly, bald headed, sickly looking vampires on the silver screen.

      Great film!

      I have always loved this film. Malkovitch and Dafoe giving stellar performances in the lead roles. Eddie Eizzard and Udo Kier are phenomenal in their roles.

      Willem DeFoe is amazing

      Great storyline. Very entertaining. It’s said that DeFoe really got into this role. He’s hilarious and spooky, plus he looks identical to the original Max Schrek.

      Shadow of the Vampire dvd

      I've always enjoyed this movie. Really good cast. Willem Defoe, John Malkovich,Eddie Izzard and Cary Elwes. It's a film/documentary like of the 1920's film Nosferatu. Definitely worth watching and owning.
