      Great disaster movie, all the better for being true.

      Loved this series for years, and wanted it for my own. The courage and desperation of the people battling disaster, pitting themselves against the forces of nature and, even more desperately, against the forces of institutional paranoia, stirs a wide range of emotions.

      Chernobyl - The Real Truth

      The movie depicts just what happened, how it happened, what sacrifices were made and the cover ups among high officials to follow this terrible disaster. I remember our news reporting the Chernobyl disaster back then but I didn't understand the magnitude. I guess that is why I have a lot of interest today. This movie is well done and understand why it won so many awards. This is one of those movies I will watch over and over.

      A terrible, excellent story

      This program tells a very bleak, stark (and at times wrenching) story of the nuclear disaster which befell the Soviet Union in April, 1986. Despite certain fictional elements inserted for brevity, the story accurately and realistically depicts the overall circumstances before, during and after the Chernobyl explosion, from the monstrous accumulation of human error which was the cause, to the tragic, heroic stories of the valiant individuals who fought the disaster only to fall victim to its effects. This is not a pleasant, "feel-good" adventure, but it's not meant to be.

      Great Interperration!

      We do not subscribe to the network this story was originally viewed on, so we waited, hoping to see if on another network or DVD. This being the case, we were especially happy to see this release. It does not disappoint. Having meanwhile read the book, it was great seeing it come to life. We highly recommend it!

      Best docudrama of its kind.

      What a fascinating and dramatic account of this historical event in human history! The drama is visceral, depraved, and down right depressing at times. This docudrama didn't have to embellish the truth with extras, the true history is more than enough to get the point across. Excellent!
