Before they were famous...
First, the DVD set is "all inclusive" - containing not only the lost episodes - but a couple of duplicates - so if you say - "Didn't I just see that?" - yes, you did! Second, it's surprising who shows up as director - can you believe Steven Spielberg? And Leonard Nimoy are among them? There's a host of the truly famous - Joan Crawford, Ossie Davis, Sam Jaffe, Richard Kiley, Roddy McDowall and Barry Sullivan to name a few. But, equally, there's a larger host of persons who were being groomed for stardom but didn't quite make it. Pretty people who just never took off??? Anyway, I found it an interesting DVD series - the plots telegraph themselves but they are interesting takes on various occult writers at the time, including Lovecraft. For the money, it's worth taking this trip down ... Lump of Garbage
Wow, this series is a lot worse that I remembered. I sort of thought it followed on with the Twilight Zone series, but I was wrong. It demonstrates almost everything that was bad about a 70s anthology series with few redeeming values. It's amazing to me that the series could host such exemplary stars, and still come out looking so lousy. I put the blame squarely on the writers, who seemed to have no idea about handling a spooky script. Half the episodes are indecipherable -- not because they were profound but because they simply were hack jobs. I remembered the series as being somewhat enthralling, but upon a re-watch, they just come across as 70's shlock. I wish I hadn't bought the series, but I did (out of false memories). Excellent series!!!!
A continuation, of sorts, from twilight zone, although more horror orientated. Started in 1969 with tv film version, which is included in this package. The series rovoles around morality tales which usually included a villain attempting to eliminate their spouse or business partner or just a selfish individual that needed to be taught a lesson. The best ones( my personal favorites) are: camera obscura, the waiting room, certain shadows on the wall, make me laugh, house with ghost. Unfortunately, there are mediocre ones that seem like there written by 10 year olds. Overall, worth the money. Great quality CD transfer, great value for the money
Excellent CD transfer of the original TV series. The CD version looks better than the original broadcast version did on my 1970 CRT color TV, and it is so nice that there are NO COMMERCIALS !. Some of the episodes are a little cutesie, but overall the three seasons has quite a few good stories. This is a recommended buy- I paid $16 and it will take me a while to see the entire 6 discs

Still scary after all these years.
"The Cemetery" was the first and most frighteningly memorable episode of Night Gallery I watched. It was the first episode on this DVD set. It's also a little unsettling to know that most of the actors featured in this "Night Gallery" DVD set are now deceased. Later Night Gallery episodes also feature several tie-in episodes with another television series at the time called: "The Sixth Sense" starring Gary Collins. The Night Gallery set came well packaged in a nice, sturdy, multiple DVD case. I just love the romp down memory lane with these old 60s & 70s television shows. They just don't make entertainment like this anymore today.
