It quickly points out miswires, shorts, opens. It helped me find a problem in a multi-segment, inter-building run. It DOES come with instructions, which are of SOME value, but you'll have to read them carefully and try to translate to actual English. (e.g. twisted pair is called "double-twisted cable". Great for occasional use. THANKS!!
