    Copal lens retainer ring wrench

    Does exactly what is intended, though has a very reflective mirror-like finish to it... which can be distracting or alternatively used as a signaling tool! Worked fine though snug fit to tighten down retainer rings on Copal shutters.

    Not very precise tool

    This lens tool is supposed to fit the notches in the retaining rings on the backside of large format lens boards. The tool fit Copal #1 shutter ring precisely, but it was a fraction of a millimetre too tight to fit Copal #0 shutter rings. I expected it to fit and before I realized that it doesn't fit in the notches, the tool slipped and scratched the lens barrel. I had to use a metal file and modify the tool in order to make it fit the #0 shutter rings. I have not used it for #3 rings, since I don't have any shutters that size so I don't know if it fits or not. Other than that, the tool is made of stainless steel and works as intended after modification. The tool has sharp edges so you have to be very careful about slipping, it will scratch the lens/lens barrel. It was $7.00 cheaper than ...

    OK but rough

    Rough, sharp machined edges with overly-tight tolerances make it easy to scratch lens rings and lens boards. You will need to spend some time with a file to clean up the tool before use.

    Cheap, dangerous razor sharp metal

    This is pressed metal, razor sharp edges not machined at all. A similar price could get you something safe and less cheep feeling
