outstanding sound and controls one design flaw
This would be 5 stars across the board but this player has a design flaw. The dust cover rubs on the platter whether its playing or not. The cover needs to be redesigned to fix this. You cannot play lps with the cover closed. Also it did not come with audio cables. Other than that this is a well built turntable from the aluminum tone arm to the controls which are metal not plastic. The plinth is a solid 8-10 bs so it has good shock resistance and the finish is very nice in piano black. The cue function is really nice if your hands are even slightly unsteady when trying to place the tone arm to the record. The auto return works flawlessly. Setting up the tone arm is not rocket science, the instructions do a fair job of helping with this. I also watch a ton of Youtube videos with ... This has a built in pre-amp but I switched it to pass through since I ran my to a 70's JVC receiver phono inputs and this works great. This has strobe and a pitch control option, I've not messed with this as the speed is set right on. I plan to contact the manufacture to see about a redesigned dust cover lid but minus this issue it is a quality turntable.

Just not worth it.
I loved this turntable when I first saw it, beautiful, red shiny, just what I ordered. Then I hooked it up, no ground, but somehow having a preamp with it, it wasn't supposed to need it. It didn't matter what I did, I heard a humming. I tried to set the counter balance control on the tonearm, I've had many turntables before, and I couldn't set it. I believe that the counter weight is too light and not precision enough to be any kind of effective. I had to send mine back. Sad, I would of loved to have kept it. Classic style turntable, decent cartridge, easy to set up
Only complaint-tracking control is hard to quantify, still not clear how i can measure the side-to-side tracking pressure unless I set it to an extreme setting-then I can see the tonearm swinging left or right. Stylus weight no problem, I use a stylus gauge, easy to set that up. I don't see what the one reviewer is saying about the cover-mine is closing with record on turntable, plenty of side and top clearance except if I use a spindle weight which I do. I'd like to see more metal by the counterweight design, but for this price it is solid enough. Speed control with strobe works, I can compare pitches by using acoustic instruments, tuners and knowing key signatures of performances on my vinyl albums. I added a cork mat since the stock felt mat is designed for DJ use to spin records, not ... And grounding-it has a ground post, I guess the reviewer doesn't understand what this is for and how to use it? I get no ground hum from mine at all, even without grounding it. The base is wood-one of the screws came out in shipping-I could see this is not particle board, very nice fit and finish. Would buy another. And seller was very helpful, gave me a partial refund to defray the minor shipping damage. Very nice.

I had looked at used vinyl players anywhere from forty to one hundred dollars but you never know what your going to get so I decided to buy knew and through my research or maybe just out of dumb luck I believe I nailed it !
