The "geniuses" at a certain repair store told me there was nothing that could be done and it was a goner. I found ipod_wizard online and it was a quick and efficient process to send him my ancient music player. He had it back within a week. It plays and works just like new and I'm enjoying the huge music library that's been locked in there again. Thanks for your excellent service!
