Jennifer Lopez stars as tough Chicago cop Sharon Pogue in Luis Mandoki's ANGEL EYES. Sharon gives no quarter to the criminals on her beat. She's all too ready to beat up any lowlife who treats her disrespectfully. Sharon grew up in an abusive household, and this is the root of her anger. Catch (Jim Caviezel) has his own trauma to deal with. He's a drifter, seemingly connected to nothing and no one. But he suddenly becomes focused one day when he spots Sharon at a coffee shop. When she rushes headlong into a potentially fatal situation, he's there to save her. This odd, quiet, mysterious man intrigues her, and they begin to take tentative steps toward a relationship. Sharon discovers that Catch is dealing with a tragic past, and in his efforts to escape his pain, he's lost everything--even his identity. ANGEL EYES is a sensitive, intelligent, and touching romantic drama about two people struggling to connect despite tremendous odds. The film is surprising in small ways, in its telling details, its gentle humor, and in the subtly effective performances of its stars--Lopez, Caviezel, and especially Sonia Braga, in an uncharacteristically fragile performance as Sharon's abused mother.

    The story/plot was serious, a "slice of life" that many people go through - the aches & pains & tragedies - but still are able to love, be loved and move forward, toward a life of trust and happiness. Jennifer Lopez & Jim Caviezel in the main character roles were excellent.

    Compelling, Impactful, Family Dynamics, Street Smarts

    Always interested in JLo and her acting. She seems to get better with each performance. Jim Caviezel is a very low key, but impactful actor Always check him out on whatever he's doing. He can be quite compelling. Terrance Howard is one of my favorite actors, convincing.

    I know that it was an older movie that I just happened upon and didn't catch it from the beginning but it caught me and I knew that language was blocked in parts. Glad that I bought it and when left alone it's a very entertaining movie. And the price really forced my hand. Two thumbs up.

    Angel Eyes, a gift from Heaven!

    This movie is truly a gift. TNT shows this movie over and over on weekends once amd again, I can't tell you how many times I've watched it, just glued. A warm and fuzzy love story with just enough mystery, intrigue etc. for both sexes. J-Lo plays a Chicago cop, quite believably. She encouters a mystery man named Catch (played by J. Caviezel), who saves her from a dangerous situation. The chemistry between Jennifer Lopez and Jim Caviezel is WONDERFUL! An unusual love story, highly recommended for the cold, winter day.
