    Good controller for R610 - passthrough disks directly to VMware, Nutanix, etc.

    Good SAS controller, works with VMware and Nutanix, passing through devices directly (not using any hardware RAID). Did not need to do any RAID configuration, devices just showed up to the hypervisor. Cables weren't right for my R610 so needed to order separate cables (Dell M246M). Otherwise, all was good.

    Works as expected

    The card works as expected! Nothing more to say. Although if you could get the specific cables Dell makes for this card, that would be best. The generic ones I got took some finagling to fit in the r710 chassis - they are WAY too long. Card showed up fine in BIOS and esxi 6.5 with no issues, straight up swapping.

    Decent HBA for ZFS

    Works fine in combination with an older SAS controller (SAS3082E-R) in a TrueNAS server. Easy to convert to IT mode (non-RAID).
