This adapter was a good attempt to fix a connection problem. The part is excellent quality and should work well IF you have the proper peripherals to create a working connection. I should have done a lot more research before I made this purchase. I hope that I can pass it on to someone who can use it. Oh well, I tried. To be clear, the problem lies in the device I was trying to adapt, not the adapter itself.This adapter was a good attempt to fix a connection problem. Okay product. But not for all older Microsoft Joysticks.
Purchased with the expectation the adapter would work for the microsoft sidewinder precision pro force feedback joystick. It doesn't. Since that is the case I cannot really give a good review of this product. But generally speaking Belkin makes good products. So maybe my use case is outside the capabilities Belkin considered when designing the adapter.

Not a sidewinder adapter.
The title of the product implies it can be used with old gameport joysticks (namely Sidewinders). So far I've tried it with 2 different sidewinder joysticks and it doesn't work with either. If that's what you need this sort of converter for, go for something else, like necrowave's gameport adapter (needs to be made by hand). If you have a use for this specific device other than using gameport joysticks on modern computers, there's nothing physically wrong with it and it should work fine.The title of the product implies it can be used with old gameport joysticks (namely Sidewinders). Adapter does not do what I want it to do.
The adapter was supposed to convert a 15 pin to USB..tried this with two different computers and the Microsoft controller is not seen or recognized. This seems to be a design flaw. Could be my expectations are offf, I could be Looking for the adapter to something it was not designed to do.

Will not work on all computers.
Will not work on all computers. I tried on a Lenovo T420 with Win 10 and nothing. Tried on a Dell Optiplex 745 with win XP again nothing. Never recognizd the device. I mostly wanted to see if it would work on other than the Sidewinder Game Pad and it did not. I used an old QuickShot flight stick. Oh well I had to try. Another part for the drawer.
