    Not always so light, romantic, mildly tragic, film

    It was the the actors which caught my interest; a powerhouse cast (Susan Sarandon, Ed Harris, Julia Roberts). The child actors were also accomplished. And I love the film too. All in all, a winning combination!!

    Heartfelt Drama with solid acting by the cast!!

    This movie is a tough one to watch because many of the scenes (especially during the first hour) are riddled with tension -- the kind you feel when you've just confronted someone head-on. Everyone fights -- parents, children, ex-wife and girlfriend, stepmother and children; you almost feel like you've been inadvertantly caught with a friend when she decides to have a major argument with a family member -- makes you want to slip out of the room until the storm is over. Chris Columbus did a wonderful job directing this film -- the arguments were uncomfortable, but they were supposed to be. Better, there were some poignant moments that really worked. STEPMOM is a realistic fable with just a touch of magic to make the audience happy. The cast was superb -- Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon ...

    Worth viewing.

    This is an entertaining film and depicts the everlasting clash between Mom and stepmom. Naturally the Mom finds it hard to let go and the child is caught in the middle. All ends well in the long run. It is a well acted film
