The only micron gauge I would use
Seriously, stop trying gauges that just do not rank up. I went thru so many and nothing even compares to this one. Why? -Bar display where you don't care (low vacuum) -Digital readout where you care (high vacuum) -TIMER SELECTABLE INCLUDING NO AUTO SHUT OFF SETTING !!! -Target pressure alarm -"Digital paper" screen technology, same as on the first Kindle, - perfectly readable in brightest sunlight ! -All that with Yellow Jacket quality and reliability -All that at this measly price? Try to beat this and waste your time dealing with Chinese products.Seriously, stop trying gauges that just do not rank up. I went thru so many and nothing even compares to this one. Good Concept, POOR Implementation. Died on the first day! E-paper is SLOW and blurry.
Died on first day of use. Stuck at 5 micron. Cleaned per Yellow Jacket instructions with no luck. Called YJ support and they said "Yep it has a bad microprocessor - get it replaced from the original reseller." So now I'm stuck with a half-finished HVAC install and a busted vacuum gauge. Also, the e-paper display is very SLOW to update. Also, sometimes it's blurry after updating, then usually clears up later. The whole unit is very sluggish: when you press a button, it takes several seconds for the display to update, so you end up pressing a button several times thinking it didn't 'take'. A feature that would be really great is the ability to rotate the display 180 degrees. A lot of what I have done with it so far requires the gauge to be pointing to the RIGHT. This makes the ... More miss than hit...out $134 and nothing to show for it
The particular micron vacuum gauge that I purchased apparently has an internal leak. My instructors at Chattahoochee Tech. now forbid me to attempt to use this particular tool. I'm incredulous as I had my heart set on using this for my practical test. I'll try to send it back to Yellow Jacket for testing. My faith in Yellow Jacket tools has now been shaken. I hope they figure out what is going on with the gauge. I'm wondering if I purchased a cheaper Chinese made product, if I would have gotten a better value product.
