The Star Trek three-disc set is a special edition available on Blu-ray, and this set also includes a digital copy. Star Trek is a long-time sci fi favorite that is a highly recognizable classic. Spock is the main character, and was originally played by Leonard Nimoy. In this theatrical remake, Star Trek has been revived by the team of J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures. Spock is now played by Zachary Quinto. The movie version of the television series brightens colors and depicts natural skin tones, and it provides clear imagery without distortion or static. Nine deleted scenes, along with commentary, are included in the three-disc set. A total runtime of 126 minutes provides viewers with original scenes and stories from the television series and the dry humor of Spock and Kirk. Additional features are also available on the discs. A gag reel, trailers, numerous featurettes, and a Starfleet vessel simulator are some of the special features includes in this sci fi set.

    This was one of the best films of 2009. A new take of the franchise. Anyway, I didn't want the digital copy of this movie since I know nothing about that.

    Amazing Movie

    This is the first Star Trek movie that I have ever watched. I am a huge star wars fan and never really got into star trek until I watched this one. When i watched this I was instantly hooked. This is a very entertaining movie and will keep you interested throughout the whole movie. It has everything that a good movie needs (a good storyline, romance, humor, action, and surprises). I am now looking forward to watching the rest of the Star Trek Movies. Anyone, even if your not a fan of star trek, will like this movie.     Star Trek + JJ Abrams = Great

    Director J.J. Abrams gives enough shout outs to old time staples that trekkers will be giddy at the slight nods. With it being an origin story, it opens itself to the mainstream, even people who know nothing about Star Trek. The movie is as far fetched and has highly advanced technology as the original movies and TV shows had, it's just that its all modernized. Mr. Abrams doesn’t treat “Star Trek” as a sacred text, which would be deadly for everyone save the fanatics. But neither does he skewer a pop cultural classic that, more than 40 years after its first run, has been so lampooned.     Never Too Soon For Star Trek To Be Reborn Again!

    I got up the nerve to view this film 6 months after it came out since I consider myself die-hard old-school Trekkie and don't like the idea bringing out the old and bringing the new. I wasn't sure what to expect since I couldn't resolve the issues about Spock being such a different character from what I knew him as for the last 40 years. I blew this film off intentionally until it came out on video. Boy! Was I wrong about this film! It surprised me tremendously. I guess I was completely surprised at the level of authenticity J.J.     Full Circle... a day in the life of Star Trek.

    I was among the few who watched the original Star Trek on television back in the day... ...and this latest release of Star Trek kind of brings it full circle. It was good to see Spock again (he and I share the same birthday!), though a bit confusing how he can appear young and old and exist both side by side. However, a good story with enough intrigue to keep it going. The 3 disc set was nice, though I've only made use of the movie disc itself so far... Overall, this Blu-Ray disc of Star Trek 2009 is enjoyable for the whole family.
