About this product

Product Information

A key feature introduced in the Reflex edition of Rainbow Studios' off-road series is independent control of the rider from the ride. The game's trick system allows players to make their character perform freeform switches, extensions, and more, while the vehicle continues along its own trajectory. Under the new system, players can also control their riders to shift weight and momentum and pull their bike or four-wheeler back from the brink of a big spill, staying on track and out of the ditch. The control system is designed for intuitive movements, with high-flying hilltop stunts and balanced acceleration through corners and in valleys. The game's terrain effects allow the track to change during the race, as riders knock the dirt around, or even dig out a new path through the malleable earth. The vehicles themselves are deformable as well, with real-time damage in competitive events. Races are set in a variety of international locations, including tracks in the U.S. and Europe. The revamped game engine emphasizes the traction and handling on different surfaces such as mud, packed dirt, and snow. A variety of vehicles is available, including event-specific MX motorcycles, ATV four-wheelers, super-buggies, and specialized off-road racing trucks. The high-def graphics have been updated, for granular detail several times greater than in the polygonal rendering of previous MX vs. ATV games. Multiplayer modes are available for online-connected gamers, with new "Snake" and "Tag" modes, as well as the standard off-road racing set-ups.

  • Definitely worth a serious look!!!

MX vs. ATV Reflex is another very solid release from Rainbow Studios, though the franchise hasn't changed a ton in the gameplay department despite some pretty hefty on-paper features. The controls are still great, the track design is at the top of its class and there are enough events here to keep you coming back for ages, not to mention a very solid and capable online component. If you're a fan of offroad racing, this is definitely worth a serious look, though don't go in expecting a completely different racing experience. 7.5 Presentation Lots of content to be found and the in-race presentation has seen great improvements, though the menus are rather drab. 7.0 Graphics The terrain deformation is great and the draw distance is good, but the PS3 version has some blurry textures in the ...

  • Good game

Pros = Great graphics, the bike sound has greatly improved, once you get the controls down pat they work awesome. Cons = Not enough customization choices, bike parts and gear are outdated REVIEW = I bought this game because I wanted to add it to my motocross game collection. I think the game has improved alot compared to recent versions. I havn't really done alot of research on this game, but do hope they will release some download packs for it. I would recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of motocross. It's a fun and exciting game.

  • MX vs ATV Reflex (Sony Playstation 3, 2009)

I recently purchased a Sony PS3. Having been in the sport of Motocross for a number of years and having read good reports about Relfex. I wanted to give it a go. The game came out December of 09. So, finding it on a store shelf was unlikely. What I love about it is the realism. Really great physics, and the graphics are fantastic as well. Also, the way the game keeps tabs on the conditions of the track as you go one lap to the next. Really great feature there. The control is something to get used to, very sensitive to say the least. Once you start getting the feel of it it's quite good. The free online network is about the biggest dislike. Lagg isn't an issue, waiting for a race to begin at times is. Even if there is another rider or riders in the staging area waiting to race. It ...

  • Great Game

This game is just great I love the way you can control the bikes and I love the online free ride. Only thing I dont like about game is on a smaller tv the words are harder to read they are so small for some reason I havent tried it on my big 48in flat screen yet to see if it improves. Overall I give this game a 9 out of 10

  • This is a great game for any racer learning or pro.

This is an awesome game! Because You don't have to be a Super Gamer too play it. Some games are very hard to control so you get frustrated & quit. This is pretty easy to play. Yes it does take some skill, but as you get used to it, You become a better gamer while playing it. I am not reviewer good, but can hold my own. If you just want to have fun, try it out.
