I have not purchased perlite much for plants and the bags I have purchased are not clear so you can't see what's inside so when this came in a clear plastic bag I could see how uniform the pieces were and how little dust was in there. Other bags of perlite I have purchased are really dusty and hard to get proper size particles. And I love that this seller says what size they are supposed to be. I bought # 3 and that's exactly what they are. Very happy with this purchase
