A great piece of emulation history
Bleem! was one of the first commercial emulators available to the general public to enjoy console gaming on a PC, in this instance Play Station. It was a marvel of it's time not only allowing PSX game play on a PC but also offering slightly enhanced graphics in a higher resolution. Bleem! unlike most freeware emulators is mostly self confined and doesn't use plug ins or ripped Play Station BIOS helping to ensure easier customer support since it took out allot of variables, however this method also limited the expansion of the emulator by developers other than those that worked on Bleem! and had access to the source code. At the time of it's initial release Bleem! was one of the most advanced Play Station emulators available however do to the lack of a plug-in system it's development has ... Right around the same time of Bleem!'s release Connetix released another commercial Play Station emulator called Virtual Game Station or VGS and had a slightly higher compatibility over Bleem!, yet the graphics and other options were rather limited leaving Bleem! a very interesting option. After a short time of production and preorder success Bleem! was sued by Sony stating it was a violation allowing Play Station games on non-Sony hardware. Although Bleem! managed to win in the courts the court costs was too much for them to handle and the company eventually folded, only allowing a limited number of retail copies to get out into the wild in the process. If you are a fan of video game of emulation history Bleem! is a must have for your collection, however if you just want to play Play Station games on your computer I'd recommended a freeware Play Station emulator do to the cost, game compatibility, and lack of support for non-Win9x operating systems (Bleem! has problems running on Windows XP & Vista).
