About this product

Product Information

The complete edition of a timeless classic, includes the recently rediscovered Part Four and 'Last Words' by Richard Bach.Jonathan Livingston Seagull, the most celebrated inspirational fable of our time, tells the story of a bird determined to be more than ordinary. 'Most gulls don't bother to learn more than the simplest facts of flight - how to get from shore to food and back again,' writes author Richard Bach in this allegory about a unique bird named Jonathan Livingston Seagull. 'For most gulls it is not flying that matters, but eating. For this gull, though, it was not eating that mattered, but flight.' Flight is indeed the metaphor that makes this story soar. This bestselling modern classic is a fable about seeking a higher purpose in life, even if your flock, tribe or neighbourhood finds your ambition threatening (at one point our beloved gull is even banished from his flock). By not compromising his higher vision, Jonathan learns the meaning of love and kindness and gets the ultimate payoff - transcendence. The dreamy illustrations by Russell Munson provide just the right illustrations for this spirituality classic that has inspired thousands of readers to follow their own path in life and so fulfill their true potential.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT CRIMINAL SCAM ENTERPRISE!!! They have a very intentional pattern of defrauding their customers: first, they offer a hard-to-find media item at what looks like a pretty good price, but with a long shipping window. Then they never send the item, which they almost certainly never possessed in the first place. They are banking on the customer forgetting to follow up so they can keep the money. Zero replies from the seller to multiple messages. DISGRACEFUL!!!

Fraudulent seller. Please read reviews before purchasing, unlike me. Found something otherwise unattainable for a decent price and bought it too quickly. Item was never sent. I have contacted the seller and eBay and if this is not resolved I will be reporting this seller to try and stop them trading.

  • Give it a read.

A very quick read. I brought this book because I've heard so much about it, and was told it's one of those "books you should read", if only to form an opinion of it to be able to offer up. As with all books each persons opinion on reading it will be different and therefore I would say it's worth reading if it appeals to you. The use of photographs and pictures in this book was actually a really nice touch, and made reading it more enjoyable. The book also sends a positive message about aiming high for what you want to achieve in life. This is most probably why it has become so popular, as through this I'm sure Bach has encouraged some of his readers to do the same.

  • Enlightenment, thankyou Richard Bach.

I first met Johnathan in 1978, wore out my first copy, bought another, and a third for a friend. This is a simple story, which can be read in half an hour, yet take a lifetime to understand it all. I would recommend this book to any free spirit. May you find the spirit of Johnathan within yourself.
