Movie 8, Broly's first appearance.
The first time I saw this movie was in a low-quality Japanese original that was dubbed over to english. But even that way the movie itself was pretty good. The American version that we have here is a big improvement, it's the exact same movie just remastered and made to modern standards. If you're a Dragonball Z fan you will like this movie, it has all the energy blasts and fighting fans of the series have come to expect and enjoy. As the movies partially follow parallel to the series, the only time it would make sense for this movie to take place is during the 10 day wait before the Cell Games as Goku is still alive and Gohan is a Super Saiyan. It features the first appearance of the popular villain Broly, as well as his lesser-known father Paragus. While the movie doesn't waste too ... It's true that the series has comic relief, but the way it was presented here just didn't do it for me personally since I've always been a bit annoyed by Chi-Chi's obsession with Gohan's education, oh well, it's over pretty quick. This is not a new movie by any means, most everything that can be said about it has been said about it. It is a good movie worth seeing and a crucial part of the DBZ universe as a whole, recommended.

From the title you get the idea of there being another super saiyan out there other then goku and vegeta. He ends up being way stronger then both of them and they struggle to only barely defeating him. The reason I bought it is I'm a big Dragonball Z fan and trying to start a little collection and figured starting with the movies would be easy. I'm glad to have added this to my collection. A great tale that takes place before the GT part of the animated series...also Gohan is still a young one and has not grown up yet. this has some great music and a tremendous storyline that we fans of DBZ have come to expect from this series.
