    One of my favorite cookbooks! And I have over 50.

    I have purchased this book 4 times. I lost my first copy in a move and replaced it as soon as I could. I have given it as gifts the other three times for people who loved recipes I prepared from it. The recipes are arranged in a seasonal order with some menus for holiday or special occasions. There is a Christmas morning breakfast suggestion and a spring wedding menu. I prepared the Thanksgiving menu with only a few substitutions and had raves from guests. The recipes vary from complicated and expensive to prepare to delightfully easy and delicious. I have not found a bad recipe; my absolute favorite cauliflower prep is in here. There are helpful tips and interesting facts in the margin. This is a fun cookbook, one of the first I take off the shelf when looking for a new recipe.

    Silver Palate Cookbooks

    Along with Joy of Cooking and the New York Times Cookbook, both of the Silver Palate Cookbooks are must-haves for me. I used to have loads of cookbooks but these are all I really need. I purchased these Silver Palates to give to a fellow "foodie" who loves to cook to broaden his repertoir of recipes. The Silver Palate recipes have never failed me.
