Product Information

George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a low-budget, homegrown classic that had great difficulty finding a distributor at the time of its release in 1968, and has since become one of the most influential horror films of all time. (Aside from its visceral impact years before realistic gore became the fashion, the film is also important for its portrayal of a black man as the protagonist during a time when race was an extremely sensitive issue in the United States.) The plot is simple: seven people secluded in a Pennsylvania farmhouse face relentless attacks by reanimated corpses seeking to eat their flesh. The group, which includes a married couple and their daughter, a pair of young lovers, and an African-American man, try to keep their sanity as the living dead keep trying to enter the house. Radio news reports tell of the plague taking over the eastern United States, while the ever-decreasing band of survivors rapidly loses ground in the battle to both keep peace with one another and stay alive.

    A great Classic Low-Budget horror film

    Night of the Living Dead is A great Classic Low-Budget horror film Night of the Living Dead is amazing. It might feature some cheesy performances and very little special effects (it was the 60's) but George A. Romero took an idea and turned it into an instant classic. The main character is played to perfection and most of the supporting cast does an admirable job. NotLD is Zombie horror at it's finest. Romero had a small budget and little special effects and he still managed to make one of the scariest movies ever made. I still enjoy watching this movie every now and then just to remind myself what started it all and how far we've come. Final Verdict: 4/5 Rent or Buy?: If you're a horror fan this is a must buy. If you're just looking to see what all the fuss is about rent this ...

    Not worth it

    My case was shattered and broken, it won’t shut...very cheap condition. The case looks nothing like the photo given. Disappointed, just not worth the money, even the very low amount it cost. But great movie.

    Perfect Title, they are the living dead

    Best black and white horror movie ever made. Everyone should own a copy. These are the original zombies, slow moving. Great thrill, you feel like you are trapped in the farm house trying to protect yourself from all these living dead zombies. Then chaos erupts inside the house when you discover you are not alone and there are other people hiding in the basement. I recommend this movie to everyone who likes zombies, scary movies, horror thriller type movies.

    Great classic.

    great movie. One of my favorite black and white films. I would definitely suggest watching this movie if you are into zombie horror. This is one of the original zombie flicks.

    good B movie

    This dvd release of the original zombie movie is great to have. My family loves the old zombie movies and having a dvd version is great for watching over and over again.
